Jul. 27--Oro Valley didn't have to go far to find its new town manager.

The Town Council voted unanimously at its July 19 meeting to approve hiring David Andrews, its current assistant town manager, as town manager effective Sept. 1.

"It was a very logical choice," Mayor Paul Loomis said of Andrews, who will take over for outgoing Town Manager Chuck Sweet. "There's a lot of projects that are ongoing and already have their directions, and David has been a part of all those projects. He'll be able to pick them up and continue to move them on without too much of a redirection."
