NEW YORK - Luckily for Kevin Weekes, Brian Gionta was the only New Jersey Devils player who figured him out during a home-and-home series.
Weekes made 23 saves in regulation and overtime and then stopped three more shots in the shootout Saturday, lifting the New York Rangers to a 3-2 victory over the Devils and a sweep of the two games.
Before New York's 4-2 win Thursday night in New Jersey, Weekes sat out eight of nine games - first because of a groin strain and then because Henrik Lundqvist was playing too well to sit.
